The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has presented cheques of N132 million to the families of fallen police officers in Plateau State.
It was presented at the Plateau State Police Command Headquarters in Jos.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbemiga Emmanuel Adesina, handed over the cheques on behalf of the IGP to the bereaved families.
The IGP emphasised that the Nigeria Police Force places great importance on the welfare of its personnel and their families.
He acknowledged that while the financial advocate cannot replace the lives of their loved ones, it stands as a gesture of appreciation for the sacrifices made by the fallen officers in service to their country.
He further noted that the initiative reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing commitment, under his leadership, to backing its officers and honouring the memory of those who bravely served the nation.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr Abraham Joseph Chimkul expressed gratitude to the IGP and the CP for their timely support.
