The Executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has given a directive to the state authority to embark on the distribution of palliative materials, including Rica and vegetable oil to all civil servants in the state.
This was contained in a statement released by the state government. The beneficiaries of the palliative materials will include all members of staff of the state serving in the ministries, departments, and agencies of the state government
The statement released by the government, obtainable by The Round Table reads: "Gov Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma has graciously approved the release of palliative (Rice and vegetable oil) to all civil servants in the state.
"Ministries, Agencies, and Departments are to collect their allocation at the office of the Head of Service, Imo state secretariat on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 10 am.
"In the same vein, His Excellency has also empowered the Imo Marketing Board to commence the Procurement, Sale, and Distribution of foodstuff at subsidized prices to the citizenry. This is in line with his welfare packages to Imolites to help cushion the effect of Fuel subsidy removal as well as improve food availability to Ndi Imo.
"The modalities will be announced in due course," the government stated.
