Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh Nigerian former player and football coach, Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh has insisted that he is not an Igbo Man and that people should stop identifying him with the Igbo.
He noted that Igbo people listening to him should also understand that he is not an Igbo even if he answers to the Igbo name "Ogochukwu".
The former Super Eagles' defensive midfielder, Oliseh, stated that he hails from Delta State, a non-Igbo state, and bearing the same name as Igbo people is not enough for him to be regarded as Igbo.
He said "My name is Sunday Ogochukwu Oliseh. I come from a little village in Delta State called Abavo. If you are an Igbo here listening to me, I am sorry, I am not Igbo. "
The footballer's utterance has, however, generated floated reactions as some Igbo people who felt aggrieved by the confession called him out in expressions of their dissatisfaction.
Although some people understood with Sunday Oliseh, the Round Table also understands that bearing a name related to a particular tribe is not enough to identify the ethnic group to which people belong as many people often give different names to their children at birth.
