Manchester United Fan Arrested for wearing 97 Not Enough Jersey
A football fan of the Manchester United was arrested after the much-watched English FA Cup final at the Wembly Stadium between the Manchester City and Manchester United on Saturday June 3, 2023. He was arrested for wearing a number '97' jersey with an inscription that reads 'Not Enough'.

Upon his arrest, the football fan has been taken to the Police Custody on suspicion of a public order offence, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.

Trending on the social media, some football lovers online related the '97 Not Enough' jersey wore by the arrested football fan to the tragic Hillsborough Disaster that occurred in 1989.

In 1989, at a FA Cup semi-final match between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in Sheffield, 97 Liverpool fans were killed. The killing that was later condemned as 'Police error' by an inquiry panel set up to probe it in 2016.

The Police at the Wembly Stadium on Saturday stated that the football fan was arrested solely because of the '97 Not Enough' jersey wore by the fan.

The football fan wearing '97 Not Enough' Jersey got into trouble after a Twitter user took his picture and asked people to help spread it on social media so that the guy face consequence of the jersey he put on.

Shortly after the tweet was shared, Metropolitan Police retweeted the tweet with quote that "We are aware of this and have worked proactively with officials at Wembly Stadium to identify the individual."

Not long after the tweet, the Metropolitan police tweeted again "He has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and taken into custody."

The Hillsborough Survivors Support Alliance (HSA) took to the Twitter to expressed their worriness about the news development.

HSA wrote in parts: "On Saturday 3rd June 2023, the first ever all Manchester cup final took place at Wembley between Manchester City and Manchester United.

"It was the opportunity for Manchester as a city to show itself in its best light but unfortunately this was marred by a so-called Manchester United fan wearing an away shirt that mocked the deaths of the 97 unlawfully killed at Hillsborough, the families and the survivors of the tragedy that took place on April 15th 1989."

"On the back of the shirt was the number 97 and above that, where players names are normally displayed, where the words Not Enough.

L"et's hope the justice system can be as swift with the appropriate punishment for this act of hatred," the HSA concluded
