APC Gov Alia Speaks On Speculation of Dumping APC for SDP Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has reported that he would not leave the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, on Wednesday in Makurdi, the governor revealed that he had never contemplated leaving the party that brought him to office.
This also trended:
Alia stated those spreading such falsehoods on social media were merely attempting to sow confusedness between him and President Bola Tinubu.
“These actions not only as a whole miss the mark, at all events they further say a significant lack of brilliance regarding my bond with the president.
“The claims that I am considering a move to the Social Democratic Party, alongside Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and others, are altogether baseless and lack some credible evidence,” he stated.
According to the Catholic priest-turned-politician, as the leader of the party in Benue, he successfully revived APC, which had been on the brink of ebbing before the 2019 elections.
The governor asserted that attempts to undermine his leadership would fail a wee bit.
