Yorùbá is spoken by the people of the Southwestern part of Nigeria, the sane region that houses the commercial capital of the West African sub-region.
Recently, Germany included Yorùbá as one of a few languages that would be taught across German schools. Yoruba is also regarded in many other countries across the world. The presence of Yoruba languages, tradition, and culture in South American countries is superb and the recent inclusion of Yoruba language among the nine new languages okayed for the Driver's Permit Test in the United States of America is, considerably, mother of all respects accorded to the Yoruba language by foreign countries.
The tests and study manuals are currently offered in English, Spanish, French, Korean, traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese.
Yoruba, alongside Tagalog, Amharic, Arabic, Russian, Urdu, Hindi, Farsi, Portuguese, and American Sign Language, has now been added as a new option for drivers starting in September.
Speaking on Tuesday, August 26, an administrator with the Motor Vehicle Agency in Maryland, USA, Chrissy Nizer, shared reasons for the additions, noting that the languages were selected based on the US census data, according to CBS News.
Back in Nigeria, Yoruba is the most spoken language by non-native speakers, and it is spoken.
