Rabiu Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Ganduje There are tensions and anxieties in the ancient city of Kano as residents of the state await the announcement of the winner of the keenly contested governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has completed collation of the governorship election results from all the 44 local government areas in the state.
Members of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) in the state are already throwing jubilation for the projected victory of the party in the state.
NNPP Situation Room report shows that the party is leading its closest rival, All Progressives Congress (APC) by about One Hundred Thousand (100,000) votes.
However, tension began to upset the city as the whole capital city was thrown into darkness. There is no light currently in the capital city and provision for generating set was not made available at the State Collation Center.
The situation in the state shows that the governorship election in the state is being keenly contested between NNPP and APC, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is too fragile in the contest.
