Seyi Makinde and Nyesom Wike Yesterday, the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike held a Thanksgiving Church Service at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in the Rumuepirikom Deanery of the Diocese of Niger Delta North. At the event, which was well attended by excelling politicians across political parties, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo and the host, former Governor Nyesom Wike stole the show, sending social media agog with their revelations at the church.
Wike held the thanksgiving service at his family church, St. Peter’s Anglican Church in the Rumuepirikom Deanery of the Diocese of Niger Delta North, where he recounted a dreadful story he seem not to have ever told anyone, except his confidants who are very close to him and kept it secret till it was unveiled by Nyesom Wike.
Nyesom Wike while speaking at the Church service, stated that he was poisoned at the party Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2018. He said the poison left him incapacitated for several weeks and he was unable to come out of his room for days.
He said the Poison was so deadly that it severely affected his kidney and liver. When it was becoming unbearable, Nyesom Wike revealed that he was flown to Beirut, Lebanon where he was diagnosed and treated.
While speaking on behalf of the G-5 Governors at the event, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State set up the orderliness in the PDP array, mainly members of the PDP who are loyalists of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar were embittered when Governor Makinde said "...someone calls himself the Unifier but the only Unifier that I know is Wike..."
Recall that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar chose the word "unifier" more frequently in his manifesto, many loyalists of Atiku Abubakar received the statement with soberness as they claimed Atiku has done much to Makinde and deserved better than being mocked. However, supporters of Makinde were filled and loaded with questions for Atiku's loyalists. They want to know what benefit Makinde derived from Atiku that warrants their claim.
