The political crisis rocking Rivers State which seemed to have been set to sleep following intervention by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is believed to have been reawakened. This is linkable to a recent scenario in the state where Zacchaeus Adangor, a hardened follower of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, resigned from his appointment as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Rivers State putting an end to being a member of the executive cabinet of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.

Adangor, who tendered his resignation letter today, Wednesday, 24th April, accused Governor Fubara of unfair interference in the functions 9f his Office.

Recall that Governor Fubara had, yesterday, Tuesday, April 23rd, given a directive redeploying Adangor from the Ministry of Justice to the Ministry of Special Duties domiciled in the Governor's Office.

Although Governor Fubara also ordered the redeployment of Isaac Kamalu, who previously served as the Commissioner for Finance, to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment, it is understandable that the decision was taken by Governor Fubara to settle the score with his erstwhile political godfather, Nyesom Wike.

The redeployments of the high-ranking commissioners were contained in a statement released by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Tammy Danagogo on Tuesday, April 23rd.

In the resignation letter tendered by Adangor, he disclosed his intention to stay away from the administration of Governor Fubara.

He said, “I wish to state for the record, that I am no longer willing to continue to serve in the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara in any capacity whatsoever.
