Crowd Welcome Oyetola to Osun, culled from the Twitter Various reactions have trailed the entrance of the immediate past Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, to the state capital, Osogbo. This is the first time the Governor would be visiting the state after stepping aside from the seat of the Osun State Governor on November 27th, 2022.
Gboyega Oyetola was in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital, yesterday where he joined the mammoth crowd of his supporters in the state where they offered a prayer for the party and members of the party at the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Office. He later proceeded to Iragbiji, his hometown, after the prayer.
However, his visit to the state has generated reactions from some residents of the state and their counterparts from other states in the country.
Reacting to Oyetola's statement at the prayer ground that he received revelation from God that he would be returned to the Seat of Osun State Governor and that the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will win the February Presidential election, the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fired back at the Governor with the claim that his revelation rather originated from the devil, not God.
Lucky Ireaja, a resident of Benue State, stated that he is still worried about why the Governor was not reelected despite the crowd that graced his visit to the state. Although John Donaldson, a resident of Otta in Ogun State, insisted that party leaders mobilised for the crowd and that the crowd does not represent the masses.
Speaking to some of his party's members in Osun State, TheRoundTable gathered that the entrance of former governor Oyetola to Osun State would reawaken the morale of the party's supporters across the state. The majority of our respondents claimed that Oyetola's absence from the state since November 27th, 2022 had put worry in the minds of some of the supporters of the party. They submitted that his coming back to the state would boost their morale and encourage them to work harder for the forthcoming elections, in the state.
However, members of the opposition party, PDP, in Osun State react differently to Oyetola's coming to the state. They claimed that the former governor's entrance to the state was quiet because of his unpopularity. They also claimed that the former governor's presence in the state would encourage him to shed light on trending allegations against his administration.
