Yesterday, it wa reported by major news media in Nigerian including the Vanguard News that the Abuja Chapter of Friends, Sons and Daughters of Billionaire Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, who is the General Overseer, Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Delta State, have raised N3 billion in support of the church’s 500,000 capital auditorium.
The event, which held at the Continental Hotel Abuja came with glamour as lovers of the cleric and philanthropist sowed with one heart. Attendants at the launching of the 500,000 capacity cathedral included politicians from all tiers of government.
It may be good and festive to them, the donation of N3 billion by the lovers of Billionaire Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin in Abuja alone has sparked the reactionary senses of some citizens, with touching commentary regarding what N3billion could do if invested into industrial sector rather than using such huge amount of money to build church auditorium.
People were furious at the sources of the N3 billion donated so far, suggesting that the money was grossly donated by politicians who have stole public funds. Many refreted that Nigerian is lagging behind this many churches abroad are selling their properties to investors, while Nigeria is still investing such huge into building churches.
Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is holding the launching of the money needed to build the church from place to places. The N3 billion was just a donations from the Abuja version of the launching. The church will hold more launching 5o gather more money for the 500,000 mercy city cathedral.
These are what people are saying about the N3 billion donation for the 500,000 capacity cathedral to be built by Mercy City.
Malcolm Omorhobo: Colonial mentality. When churches abroad are busy winding up, we are busy building cathedrals . Who did this to Africans ?
Aitemeje: Sincerely if this was how religion was practised in those days many people would rather remain unbelievers. You hardly could identify Jesus Christ among his disciples.
These days the financial gap between most church leaders and their members is becoming too wide.
Olayinka Ayo: Why not use the money to send Missionaries to the North instead of wasting it on another mega project? Christian leaders in the South are only after building mega churches and not saving of souls.
Onyeka Uzodike: I don't know.
The thing tire me too.
I dey fear to go these days.
It's better for me to worship God Almighty at home and I'm comfortable doing so as long as I live by his words and commandments daily. God hasn't failed me anytime I call on him.
Chinny: After building the church, they'll be inside praying for prosperity. While they can build factories or put something that can help people in future. We have been praying for years, still we have not learnt anything. It's well...
Nzube Kingsley: The day Nigeria gets it right, many church buildings will close down due to little or No money for maintenance. Meanwhile enjoy the promo while offer lasts.
Gozye Okoye: Sad most churches and synagogue in California where I am are locked up or rented out to schools and Africa is building more instead of factories.
Amandi Michael: Am living in São Paulo Brasil and the total industries and company that's here in São Paulo alone is more than de total industries wey dey de whole 36th state in nigeria. The peeps i pity most in nigeria is those that went to university that didn't study carrier courses.
