President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Federal Government of Nigeria has announced readiness to embark on the recruitment of aid workers for the distribution of relief materials to the victims of the recent massacre in Plateau State.

Recall that on Christmas Eve, about 15 communities in Plateau State fell under the attack of unknown gunmen leading to the untimely demise of about 100 residents, and the displacement of about 10,000 residents.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, disclosed this in a tweet on Friday.

According to her, the online application portal link for interested applicants would be published on Monday, January 8.

The minister noted that the current application was available to applicants resident in Plateau State and the job opening would be for three months.

“These people will be hired for three months in the first instance, and if the crisis is protracted, they may be made to stay six months or for one year maximum. The humanitarian jobs opening of three months for new humanitarian aid workers resident in Plateau state is open as well.

“The online application portal link will be publicized by Monday. Remember, application for the job is free,” the tweet stated.
