Outgoing National Assembly Members to Share N195 Billion as Take Home Allowance

As the 9th Assembly in the Federal Republic of Nigeria prepares to wind down its legislative tenure for the induction of the 10th Assembly, it has been disclosed that the service will cost Nigeria about 195 billion nairas.

195 billion Naira will be shared among the 360 Members of the House of Representatives, 109 Senators, political aides, and staff of the National Assembly.

According to the National Assembly Management Board, the body has commenced clearance of the beneficiaries of the 195 billion nairas. This was affirmed by the Clark of the House, Yahaya Danzaria whose notice was read to the sitting House members, yesterday by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon (rt) Femi Gbajabiami.

According to the Speaker, “all honourable members are to collect their clearance forms for the payment of severance gratuity from the Office of the Clerk to the House and submit same after completion in Annex Room 2.154 or 2.031, Finance and Accounts Directorate on or before Friday, June 9, 2023.”

Details of the 195 billion Naira that has been earmarked to service the bicameral National Assembly budget are as follows:
