A National Leader of the Labour Party, Doyin Okupe has been dragged for taking sides with the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu in his ordeal with the Organ harvesting case.

Like Ekweremadu is facing an illegal organ harvesting case in the London Court, United Kingdom. In this case, he has been found guilty alongside his wife and may face life imprisonment if the new law model of the Kingdom is to be applied.

Doyin Okupe who was a former Sepcial Assistant to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjon on media and former Senior Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in Public Affairs was hardly hit by some Nigerians who saw his stance with Ekweremadu in the organ harvesting case as a support for injustice.

Doyin Okupe had early tweeted that "My heart this morning goes out to Ekeremadu, his wife and unfortunate family. I cannot act as a judge in this matter. But I pray that God of the universe who rules over the affairs of men will Intervene in this sad development. God help us in this time of trouble as you promised.

The tweet attracted his followers' wrath as they insisted his tweet indicated that he does not want the poor boy whose organ was to be harvested to get justice.

Some of the replies to his tweets read:

Adiole Victor: Sir, allow the small boy to get justice. You politicians are the same. You're praying for Ekweremadu who was found guilty of organ harvesting. Meanwhile, you didn't care to thank God for not allowing the Ekweremadu family to succeed with their evil plan for the little boy.

Victor Wolemonwu: With due respect sir, there is no sad development anywhere. They violated the law and are facing the consequences. I expect us to begin to think of ways to strengthen our organ donation laws and guidelines, not whipping up unnecessary public sentiments.

Chinemelon: Don’t feel sad for him. If he built a world class hospital on his father’s village when he had the chance, he would have been able to legally harvest organs in his fatherland but he didn’t so he has only himself to blame.

However, in his reply to one of the comments under his tweet, Doyin Okupe insists that Ekweremadu did not have any evil plans for the no, although he admit that his perception may not be right.

He said "The Ekeremadus did not have evil plans from my perspective. And I can be wrong. Organ donation is commonplace globally. That people pay for it is also a known and accepted fact. People even voluntarily sell their organs. I blv this matter was negotiated and agreed upon by all parties."
