Bunmi Tunji-Ojo President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reportedly summoned his Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, to the presidential villa after a company linked to him was caught in the ongoing investigation of the financial misappropriation leveled against the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered the suspension of his Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu following allegation of misappropriating about N585 million meant to be spent on poverty Alleviation in Ogun, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, and Cross Rivers States.
A company, New Planet Project Limited, linked to the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, was said to have been awarded a consultancy contract worth N438 million out of the N3 billion National Social Register contract awarded by the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu.
The New Planet Project Limited allegedly traced to Tunji-Ojo was said to have been initially paid N279 million for verification of the National Social Register and another N159 million for the same purpose.
The social register was created for cash transfers and other social investment programs.
