DR Iyorchia Ayu The Benue State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu.
It was alleged that Dr. Iyorchia Ayu worked against PDP at his Igyorov ward in Benue State during the Presidential, National Assembly, Governorship, and State House of Assembly elections in the state.
The suspension of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu from the PDP was contained in a letter signed by the Benue State PDP Chairman, Kashi Philip; his deputy, Ortese Helen; PDP Secretary, Vangeryina Dooyum and 14 other party excos in the State.
They maintained that Dr. Ayu has also contravened section 8 subsection 9 of the PDP Constitution (2017) as amended. Pursuant to the PDP Constitution, Dr. Ayu is mandated to pay his annual subscription fee to the party but he declined to do so.
The Benue State chapter of the PDP alleged that Dr. Ayu did not vote during the March 18 Governorship and State House of Assembly election in Benue State. Also, his close allies were also accused of working against the PDP, in favor of the APC at his ward during the March 18 election.
The Benue State chapter of the PDP, therefore, decided to suspend Dr. Ayu from the party with immediate effect from March 24th, 2023.
