Alhaji Aminu Dantata was a renowned Nigerian businessman and philanthropist who was born on May 19, 1931, to the family of Alhassan Dantata in Kano State, Nigeria. Aminu Dantata passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 94. 

Alhaji Aminu Dantata could be said to have learnt trading from his late father, Alhassan Dantata, a wealthy merchant during the colonial era.

Interestingly, Aminu was the 15th of  the 17 children of Alhassan and went on to become a successful businessman, leading a long-established family empire that operates in sectors such as oil and gas, real estate, banking, and agriculture.
