Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of the state at the Akeredolu's private residence in the Jericho area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Governor Aiyedatiwa who was sworn in yesterday after the demise of his boss, the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, visited the Ibadan residence of Akeredolu, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, alongside other members of the Ondo State Executive Cabinet Council.
Aiyedatiwa, while commiserating with the family of his late boss, insisted he would immortalize the name of Akeredolu who died of a prolonged illness on Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
Aiyedatiwa described Akeredolu as a "Sincere, courageous, selfless and patriotic leader who fought for his people, championed development and touched many lives
He reiterated that the demise of Akeredolu is a "Great loss to Ondo State, the Southwest region, and Nigeria at large, stressing that Akeredolu’s struggle for a peaceful, fair, and just society can never be forgotten in a hurry.
Responding on behalf of the Akeredolu family, the younger brother of the deceased, Pastor Kola Akeredolu, thanked the delegation led by Governor Aiyedatiwa for the thoughtful visit.
Prayers were offered for the Akeredolu family, while Governor Aiyedatiwa led others to the signing of the condolence register.
