Gov. Agbu Kefas Bans Issuing of Receipts For Timber Products and Mining Activities

Agbu Kefas
The Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas has banned the issuing of receipts for all timber products and mining activities by any Ministry, Department, or Agency in the state.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yusuf Sanda.

It states that the affected MDAs should please note and comply, accordingly.

Recall that Governor Agbu Kefas had early ordered miners across the state to seek alternative means of livelihood or face the wrath of the law.

The Governor who asserted that illegal mining promotes crimes in society, said putting a hold on such activities will go a long way in addressing some of the security challenges presently bedevilling the state.

The governor further called on both the federal government and development partners to assist the state in mapping out plans that will help implement reforestation programmes.

Some locals pleaded with the governor to do everything humanly possible to make the directive effective across the state.
