Fire Fighters Spread Cool Water To Mitigate Maiduguri
Operatives of the Federal Fire Service
It was strange and appreciative as people gathered, watching men of the Federal Fire Service, Maiduguri Command, spraying cool water from their water tanks to mitigate the harsh weather conditions in the Region.

Operatives of the Federal Fire Service were sighted at the Monday Market and its environs, spreading cool water from their water tanks to mitigate the hot temperature influenced by the brazing sun in the region.

Currently, Maiduguri, the Borno State capital is experiencing 45 Degrees Celsius, a temperature record above the projected normal temperature of 36.9 degrees Celsius for human existence.

Fire Service was known for coming in to put out fires if there was a fire outbreak in a building or working in collaboration with other agencies to rescue victims of waterway accidents when a boat capsized. However, seeing the operatives of the Fire Service spraying water to cool the harsh temperature in the town was a strange one and people appreciated the government's decision.

A resident of Maiduguri who spoke to the Round Table on the development said, they are happy with the government because the intervention speaks volumes as it informs the residents that the government is still thinking about their existence, and their welfare is being prioritized.

This is likely the first time in the history of Nigeria that a government will be deploying the operatives of the fire service to embark on taking actionable measures against harsh weather conditions which is predominantly known in the Northwest, Northeastern, and parts of North Central geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
