Yesterday, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde attended an Interdenominational Commendation Service in honour of His Excellency, Late (Dr) Victor Omololu Sowemimo Olunloyo  at the great Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State. At the event, Governor Seyi Makinde proposed the renaming of The Polytechnic Ibadan, in the honour of Late Dr. Omololu Olunloyo.

The Polytechnic Ibadan Becomes Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan

In honour of the life well-spent by the late former Governor Omololu Olunloyo, incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde made a pronunciation that The Polytechnic, Ibadan shall be named in Olunloyo's nomenclature. Even though the pronunciation by Governor Seyi Makinde needs ratification and approval of the Oyo State House of Assembly, the decision made by Governor Seyi Makinde had potentially sent signal to the public that name of The Polytechnic Ibadan has been changed to Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.
