Amidst the galloping economy which has resulted in runaway inflation coupled with economic hardships with many citizens finding it extremely difficult to earn a living as food items and other essential commodities are currently sold on hike prices, the General Overseer of the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has been accused of making another statement that may generate mixed reactions, as usual.
A source informed The Round Table that the revered pastor, Enoch Adeboye, has recently told all the pastors manning all the branches of his church, RCCG, across Nigeria to be bold and make it clear to their followers that payment of tithe is a certificate to enter paradise, no matter the deeds of the worshipers when alive.
The pastor allegedly informed all his senior pastors to inform other pastors and their congregations that payment for tithe is very important for anyone who wants to make heaven.
Pastor Adeboye was allegedly quoted to have informed all his pastors, "Make it clear to them, anyone who is not paying Tithe is not going to heaven, full stop."
The statement is coming a few days after another clergyman, founder, and presiding Pastor of the Salvation Ministry, Port Harcourt, David Ibiyeomie, told his congregation that "During hard times as it is now, you must not stop to pay your tithe Aland quality offering.
Reactions trailing the statements have critically assessed the pastor's position on the payment of tithe while the worshipers, among other Nigerians, strive to survive the economic challenges facing the country.
