The biggest mobile phone and memory chips manufacturer in the world, Samsung Mobile, has finalized plans to set up a new mobile phone factory in Egypt. This was a result of Egypt's drive to attract more investment to support its economy.

According to the news by the National News, construction of the Samsung Mobile production plant is expected to begin anytime from September 2023. The Factor is expected to be sited at the Beni Suef Governorate, South of Cairo, Egypt, as disclosed by the country’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The investment by the South Korean company comes after Egypt, the Arab world's third largest economy, introduced a round of legislative and economic reforms to boost private sector participation. The Samsung Mobile phone factory in Egypt will produce the new versions of phones and its products will serve the Egyptian local market and the Northern African subregion.

According to Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Samsung Mobile Phone factory in Egypt will generate around 1,400 direct and indirect jobs for Egyptians.
