Issakaba Season 2 Issakaba which is an anagram for Bakassi is a movie first produced in the year 2001 by Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen, and it is based on true life events.
Issakaba Season 2 is coming on very soon, the promotion is epic, and screenlookers are thirsting of having the experience of every scene that made up the expected movie. However, I would like to see if the script writer does cover up or address the purpose of the movie as done in the season 1.
Issakaba is a codename for the Bakassi Boys who took over from OTA after market women protests sometimes around 2000 in the Southeast.
Southeast has been under a series of untold threats of insecurity menaces enacted by itself for the past number of decades. Issakaba season 1 addressed the issue and it helped the region to send true pictures of how it was causing its own downfall to the world.
Interestingly, the world came to their rescue after much pressure from Lagos-based Human Rights activists, the Federal Government of Nigeria disbanded the Bakassi Boys sometime around 2002.
I witnessed the real-life activities of Isakaba in Onitsha, when it was active, at the Main Market, Fegge, Upper Iweka, and a little around the Ndemili area precisely at Ogbaaru community which has been densely populated by some hard boys.
What interests me much about the upcoming Isakaba Season 2 movie will be, despite the fact that the Bakassi Boys were recruited by the public with clear-cut service objectives, it later transformed itself into a Notorious bl**d-thirsting Vigilante Group.
The movie should be able to identify the cause of the failure of the Southeast to abide by the law, whether it is an individual or security group.
Also, the movie should be able to highlight ways to go for the Igbo generation, simply because the menace seems to have been transformed into inheritance within sibling groups.
Note this, the way Issakaba failed to withhold the sovereignty of the Igbo generation is nothing different from the way MASSOB, IPOB and their sister groups have failed and still failing to withhold the same cause.
We have seen vigilante groups in other regions and their operations have been on objectives, if the movie, Issakaba Season 2, fails to unveil the difficulties for the Igbo generation to address, it is not different from a mere film of fiction and illusion and purposely the objective of the movie would be limited to money.
