Former Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Rt Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has reacted to the trending news that he has been appointed as the substantive chairman of the Nigerian anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
AIG Odumosu stated that his purported appointment as the National chairman of EFCC is fake and unfound. Recall that, late yesterday, it was reported that President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of AIG Odumosu as the substantive chairman of EFCC pending the approval of the National Assembly.
Debunking his purported appointment as the substantive EFCC Chairman, AIG Odumosu stated that “Good Morning everyone, I have been inundated with so many calls and messages between yesterday and today on a purported “EFCC Appointment”., I just want to use this opportunity to debunk this information and say it’s totally UNTRUE."
Hakeem Odumosu was a former Lagos State Commissioner for Police, and he retired from active service in January, 2022.
