Former State Attorney General Drags DisCo To Court Over Epileptic Power Supply A former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Nasarawa State, Mallam Yusuf Shehu Usman, has dragged a power distribution company, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to court over the epileptic power supply.
Mallam Usman who made his intention known in a Facebook post, claimed that the Lafia Office of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) should return the cost of the units he recharged on his pre-paid meter for months without power supply.
He said the Lafia Office of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company(AEDC) should “recover the cost of the units I recharged in my pre-paid meter for months without corresponding service from them”.
Mallam Usman also added that he also “intends to claim both damages for breach of contract and interest on my money stuck in their meter, which they have been trading with it and gaining profit”.
“If there are other customers in the same situation with me in this breach of contract and they have an interest in the litigation, let’s join hands and file a joint action against the AEDC,” he added.
In a related development, the Nasarawa State House of Assembly(NSHA) has summoned the Nasarawa State Area Manager of AEDC to appear before the house for an explanation of the reason the state has been experiencing intermittent power supply.
The House has also resolved to invite the General of the Nasarawa Electricity Power Agency(NAePA) for questioning over the persistent power failure in the state.
