Bandits Fear gripped the residents of Kwalfada village in Tsafe local government area of Zamfara State when a team of bandits dreadfully armed with sophisticated weapons invaded the village to kill a man who refused to allow his daughter to marry one of the bandits.
One of the residents of the village who was simply identified as Mallam Tabi stated that the killed man had refused his daughter to marry one of the bandits who invaded the village. He said the man hurriedly married out his daughter to another man 8n the village when he learned that one of the bandits was proposing to her.
Mallam Rabo also said after the man rejected the bandit's proposal to marry his daughter, he hurriedly gave out his daughter to another man in the village.
He stated that the bandits, during the invasion, went to the house of the newly wedded couple and mandated the husband to "compulsorily" divorce his wife so that she would be available to marry their colleague, a Bandit.
Mallam Rabo said, “After the marriage was contracted, the bandits invaded the community and killed the father of the girl.
“They also asked the husband of the girl to divorce her so that their colleague could marry her.
“They threatened to kill the husband if he did not comply with the directive.
“The husband immediately divorced the wife, and she was remarried to the bandit who took her to the forest,” Rabo told The PUNCH.
Mallam Rabo disclosed that residents of the village live in fear as the bandits have recently imposed a levy of N4 million on the village.
