Dino Melaye Governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the recently conducted Kogi State gubernatorial election, Dino Melaye, has shared a video alleging it was a "Post-Election Thumbprinting of Ballot Papers" aided by an official of the electoral umpire in the country, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Dino Melaye who shared the one-minute-plus video on his Facebook timeline, alleged that the alleged Post-Election Thumbprinting of Ballot Papers was to aid the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), [Usman Ododo], to cover the deficit in the actual number of votes gathered by him during the election and the allegedly inflated figures written for him in the result sheets.
Blowing the whistle on the said allegation, Dino Melaye claims "This is just one out of the many crimes they're trying to cover. Electoral Officer, Okehi LGA opened his office for thumbprinting of ballot papers for APC Candidate. This was done to enable them to meet up with the figure pre-filled on the result sheet given to them during the election."
Dino Melaye who called on the people of Kogi State and Nigeria at large to reject the alleged criminality, shouted out to INEC to investigate the allegation which he claimed allegedly happened throughout the state even though he stated that the video shared by him was what happened in Kogi Central Senatorial District where the governorship candidate of APC, Usman Ododo, hails.
"We are Calling on the National Chairman of INEC Nigeria to investigate this corrupt EO of Okehi LGA. The Nigeria Police Force must arrest him for possible prosecution. Findings revealed similar happenings across the Kogi Central Senatorial District of Kogi State. Kogites and Nigeria say No to Electoral malpractices," Senator Dino Melaye wrote on his Facebook timeline.
You can watch the alleged video on this Facebook Timeline even though none of the voice-over captured in the video connotes the claim by Senator Dino Melaye, and it could not yet be verified of the video is staged or a reality.
