The spokesperson of the Peter Obi/Datti Baba-Ahmed Presidential Campaign Council under the platform of the Labour Party, Kenneth Okonkwo has been relieved of his position because of the role he played in the trending story of a leaked phone conversation between the presidential candidate of the party, Mr. Peter Obi and Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners Chapel International.
The Round Table had earlier reported a leaked phone conversation between Mr. Peter Obi and Bishop Oyedepo where Peter Obi was begging the Bishop to help convince his church congregation to cast their votes for him because the election was a "Religious War".
In a related story that was published on The Round Table, the spokesperson of the Labour Party presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo confirmed the leaked phone conversation. However, he blamed the conversation on the Muslim Muslim ticket that was presented by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Not satisfied with the revelation of truth by Okonkwo, some supporters of Mr. Peter Obi called on him to bring down his confirmatory statement and join them in deeming the leaked phone a fake one.
Following his refusal to comply with the mob, a press statement has been released relieving him of his position as they claim that he cannot release a statement on the leaked phone conversation.
A tweet by one of the forerunners of the Peter Obi presidential campaign, Nnamdi Chife reads "Please note that Kenneth Okonkwo (@realkenokonkwo) no longer has any permission to release a statement in any shape or form on behalf of Peter Obi's camp. As a former APC member, anything he says going forward is in his own personal capacity.
