The Grammy Awards is a noble music award that is used to celebrate brilliance performance by musicians annually. Grammy Awards, established decades ago, recognize works of recorded musics only.

Grammy Awards has been won by many Nigerians from the various genres and categories recognized by the organizers of the global award. About seven Nigerians have won the Grammy Awards so far.

Grammy give awards to musicians across the following genres: pop, rock, country, rap, and more. The genres are further broken into some notable categories which include Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist, and Notable Winners.

Some notable Nigerians who have won the Grammy Awards are:

Sade Adu

Sade Adu was a serial winner of Grammy Awards who lonely, as a Nigerian, privatized the award and win it for years. Sade Adu won the Best New Artist in 1986; Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals in 1994 for the "No Ordinary Love" album and again won the same award in 2011 for "Soldier of Love" album.

 In 2002, Sade Adu won Best Pop Vocal Album for "Lovers Rock". Sade Adu was not only the first Nigerian to win the Grammys Awards, she nearly privatized the awards for years. She was a full Nigerian, biologically.

Seal

Although Seal is a British musician with Nigerian mother, Seal reportedly won four Grammy Awards.

Sikiru Adepoju 

Sikiru Adepoju, in 2009 won the Best Contemporary World Music CD for "Global Drum Project"

Kevin Olusola

Kelvin is an American singer-songwriter with Nigerian father. In 2015, Kelvin Olusola was named winner of the Grammy Award Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or A cappella for "Daft Punk" with Pentatonix

Burna Boy

In 2021, Burna Boy won the Best Global Music Album for his "Twice As Tall"

Wizkid

 Wizkid was named winner of the Grammy Best Music Video in 2021 for his "Brown Skin Girl" with Beyoncé.

Tems

 Tems is another Nigerian who was named winner of the Grammy Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2023 for her "Wait For U" with Future and Drake

Tems also won Grammy's Best African Music Performance in 2025 for her "Love Me Jeje" album.
