Seyi Adekunle, widely known as Seyi Vodi, is a prominent Nigerian fashion businessman and the visionary founder and chairman of Vodi Group. His journey to becoming one of Nigeria's most recognized fashion entrepreneurs is a testament to resilience and unwavering dedication.

Born in Lagos and hailing from Osun State, Seyi Vodi pursued a degree in Geology at the University of Maiduguri. His foray into the world of fashion began during his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Akwa Ibom, where he learned the basics of tailoring from local tailors, starting by sewing shirts and boxers for his colleagues.

A pivotal moment in his career came after he failed a bank employment test in 2002. This setback, rather than discouraging him, spurred him to pursue his passion for fashion more seriously. Although he later secured a banking job in 2003, he eventually left to fully dedicate himself to his tailoring business. He initially registered his company as Testimony Fabrics in 2001, later rebranding it as Vodi in 2003 for a shorter, more African-sounding name.

Under his leadership, Vodi Group has expanded significantly beyond fashion, encompassing Vodi Clean, Vodi Training Institute, Vodi Debo, and Vodi Textile. As of May 2017, Seyi Vodi was already listed as one of Nigeria's largest fashion labels.

Seyi Vodi's influence extends beyond his thriving business. He is renowned for his craft and creativity, dressing influential personalities, top government officials (including the current Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima), celebrities, and even global figures. He has collaborated with A-list stars like Davido, Kizz Daniel, Ubi Franklin, and Tim Dakolo.

Beyond his entrepreneurial success, Seyi Vodi is recognized for his philanthropic endeavors and community development. He has been lauded for using his talent to uplift less privileged persons by undertaking community-based projects such as constructing water projects, bridges, and renovating school blocks.

His contributions have not gone unnoticed; he is a recipient of the national honour, Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
