The love story of Afrobeats superstar Davido and his wife, Chioma, is a narrative of patience, perseverance, and public spectacle. For years, their relationship has been a topic of intense interest, from the viral hit "Assurance" to their highly anticipated weddings. Now, a recent press statement from the Osun State Governor's office adds a new chapter, prompting a new question: how many times will Davido get married to a single woman?

The journey to marital bliss for the couple has been anything but conventional. It has unfolded in a series of ceremonies, each with its own significance.

The first, a solemn and private affair, took place in November 2022, shortly after the tragic passing of their son, Ifeanyi. Sources reported that this traditional marriage was a quiet ceremony held at Davido's father's house, with only close family and friends in attendance. This was a necessary step to officially formalize their union, with Chioma's family from Imo State hosting the traditional rites in Lagos.

The second ceremony was a grand, public celebration that captured the attention of the nation. In June 2024, the couple held a lavish traditional wedding in Lagos, a star-studded event with the hashtag #CHIVIDO24 dominating social media. This celebration was a testament to their enduring love and a public declaration of their commitment. It was a carnival-like event, attended by a long list of dignitaries, including governors and former presidents, and cemented their status as one of Nigeria's most prominent celebrity couples.

Now, a new wedding is on the horizon. A press statement from the Spokesperson to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has revealed that Davido is set for another wedding in the United States.

In a statement responding to inquiries about the governor's whereabouts, Rasheed invited the opposition party to "the wedding of David Adeleke (Davido) in the United States," which the governor was attending. The spokesperson also confirmed that this would be a white wedding, a ceremony that the artist had previously announced.

Davido himself had announced in an interview on a popular American radio show that a white wedding was planned for August 2025 in Miami, following the traditional ceremony in Nigeria. He explained the cultural differences between the Nigerian and Western wedding traditions, and how the white wedding would be a more intimate affair.

This latest development, coming after a private traditional marriage and a public one, highlights the different facets of their union. It's a love story that is not defined by a single ceremony but rather by a series of events, each with its own purpose. As the couple prepares for their third wedding ceremony, it seems the question is no longer "if" they will get married, but "how many times," and in how many different ways, they will choose to celebrate their love.
