The Prime Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida has concluded plans to sack the Chief Cabinet Secretary of his administration Matsuno Hirokazu over the corrupt allegation.

Hirokazu was recently accused of receiving political funds without making a declaration to the party authorities or the government. This was reported by one of the leading media agencies in Japan, Yomiuri which cited the government and ruling party, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) sources for the information.

Prime Minister Kishida and his party, LDP, are facing a serious public probe as the Chief Cabinet Secretary, Hirokazu, was said to have ganged up with other high-profile members of the party including lawmakers elected under the party to embezzled party funds generated through fundraising. The money was allegedly said to be to the tune of 100 million yen ($693,000), and the said amount was not contained in the financial record of the party. The allegation was fueled by rising cost of living and exorbitant tax hikes in the country.

Following the allegation, some media agencies in Japan reported that the government is willing to probe some lawmakers at the end of their session which lapsed on Wednesday. Prime Minister Kishida was also said to have concluded plans to reshuffle his cabinet which is also alleged to be planned for after the end of the lawmakers’ session on Wednesday.

Separately, almost all the Japanese media houses reported allegations that the Chief Cabinet Secretary, Matsuno received over 10 million yen over the past five years without remittance to the party although the Chief Cabinet Secretary refused to react to the allegation.
