Breaking: Military Aircraft Crashes, Catches Fire in Port Harcourt

A helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reportedly crashed and immediately caught fire in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, today.

The report of the crashed military aircraft was reported by some citizens living around the NAF Base in Port Harcourt. The witness told Politics Nigeria that he heard a thunderous sound at the NAF Base early today which was followed by thick flame coming from the burning aircraft.

Identities of the occupants of the crashed military aircraft and detailed information about the aircraft have not been released by the Nigerian Air Force. The incident occurred around 7:50 am on Monday, December 1, 2023.

“I was inside my apartment when I heard this thunderous sound at the NAF Base. The next thing I saw was a thick flame. I don’t know if there are casualties because I can’t go close to the scene for now. But I heard a blast twice,” an eyewitness told PoliticsNigeria.
