Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Tuesday, July 15, 2025, as a public holiday throughout the nation. This solemn declaration comes as a mark of profound respect and mourning for the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at a clinic in London. He was 82.

The news of the former president's demise sent shockwaves across Nigeria and beyond, prompting an outpouring of condolences from world leaders and citizens alike.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a statement, expressed deep sorrow and acknowledged Buhari's immense contributions to the nation.
