Manchester United appears to be on the cusp of securing a significant summer signing with reports indicating they are nearing a deal for highly-rated Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra. The 22-year-old Spaniard has reportedly rejected a new contract offer from his current club, opening the door for a move to Old Trafford.

United's pursuit of Guerra has intensified in recent weeks, with sources suggesting a verbal agreement has already been reached with the player. The Red Devils are now said to be working "behind the scenes" to finalize the transfer with Valencia, who are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the talented midfielder.

Guerra, a product of Valencia's esteemed academy, has emerged as one of La Liga's brightest young talents. Known for his box-to-box energy, defensive discipline, and ability to dictate play from deep, he is seen as a long-term solution to Manchester United's evolving midfield under new manager Rubén Amorim. With the futures of experienced players like Casemiro and Christian Eriksen uncertain, Guerra's potential arrival signals a shift towards a younger, more dynamic core at Old Trafford.

While Guerra's contract with Valencia reportedly includes a substantial €100 million release clause, financial constraints at the Spanish club are understood to have made them amenable to a lower fee. United are reportedly willing to spend around €25 million (£21 million) for the Spain U21 international, with Valencia hoping to fetch closer to €27 million.

The contract dispute between Guerra and Valencia appears to be the key factor facilitating this potential transfer. According to reports from Spain, Guerra and his representatives believe Valencia's renewal offer "doesn't fit their needs" and are seeking "something better." This stalemate has provided United with a prime opportunity to swoop in for a player they have been monitoring for some time.

Despite interest from other top European clubs, including AC Milan, Aston Villa, and Atlético Madrid, Guerra's apparent desire to move to Old Trafford is a significant boost for United. Journalist Sébastien Vidal has further indicated that United are keen to "finalize" the signing "quickly."

If the deal goes through, Javi Guerra would represent one of Manchester United's first major signings of the summer window, signaling their intent to build a squad aligned with Amorim's vision of energy, versatility, and technical quality. Fans will be eager to see how this promising Spanish midfielder can adapt to the rigors of the Premier League and contribute to United's ambitions for the upcoming season.
