The Moment Wike Rocked Rivers Threatening Nobody Can Challenge Us in 2027
Nyesom Wike
Last week Sunday, February 18th, 2024 was another important day in the history of Rivers State politics as the immediate former Governor of the State, and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, rocked the streets of Rivers politics, forsaken the political space and left words through the window of church to send his political enemies panicking, ahead of the 2027 Governorship Election in the state.

No doubt, Wike had wasted a slot, embracing Siminalayi Fubara as his preferred governorship candidate during the 2023 governorship election in the state.

It is not news, how Governor Fubara abruptly turned against his political benefactor, Wike, and his one-time godfather now became his number one target for political clearance.

Despite threats and provocative actions, Nyesom Wike was at a thanksgiving service in Koroma, Rivers State on Sunday, February 18, 2024, where he burrowed the opportunity of the audience to fire catapults toward the camps of his political opponents in the state.

The statement reveals his assurance about the pending victor for his political camp, ahead of the 2027 election.

Wike said: “With the forces we have, I don’t know of anybody who can challenge us. I can tell you it is like tomorrow is 2027. For me it is still very far, I can’t wait. The two leaderships of the party, APC here, and PDP here; where can you find that leadership unity? Which state? It is only in Rivers that you can find that unity.

“And that is what many people don’t like. When they see people united and working together, they find how to make sure they are divided but since we know, we have refused to be divided.

“This is the only state where the leading party will win for the president, the opposition party will take national assembly in an election that was done the same time, same minute, and same hour. That is uncommon.”

The minister also sought the support of the Rivers people for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms and policies in the country.

Wike maintained that it won’t be easy to turn the fortunes of the nation around in a short time.

“God in His infinite mercies will continue to give us the strength to work together to support Mr President. So many people in this country hardly remember yesterday, we are in a rush – we have a problem, but have you asked yourself how was yesterday? Decisions of Mr President, if we are patient by the end of the day, we will get to where we want to get to,” he said.
