Military men have switched into action, hunting for the perpetrators behind the recent incident that occurred in Kwara State.
Recall that it was widely reported on Thursday, February 1, 2024, that unknown gunmen invaded the palace of Olukoro of Koro in Ekiti Local Government of Kwara State, HRH retd General Segun Aremu, killing the monarch with gunshots while the wife of the monarch and two others were abducted by the assailants.
Reacting to the incident, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of the state had vowed that the state government “Will certainly get the perpetrators and ensure that this is their last crime against humanity.
In the spirit, military personnel serving in the state have been deployed to the palace of Olukoro of Koro, where the incident occurred.
The military officers have, therefore, advanced to the bush to hunt for the criminals to get the abducted people released and bring the assailants to book.
The Governor had earlier expressed condolence with the people of the affected community, saying the "reckless, shocking, and abominable" incident had broken his heart.
"My profound condolences go to the people of Koro. Our hearts are broken, and we stand by them at this time and always," Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said.
The Governor also encouraged the military officers not to spare any resources to track down the perpetrators, free the spouses and others taken away, and bring them to book.
