President Tinubu Under Pressure to Appeal U.S. Judgement for Atiku

President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is said to be holding a series of meetings, both one-on-one and delegated ones, with his associates on the ways forward following a recent court judgment delivered by Judge Nancy Maldonado of the District Court, Northern District of Illinois, United States of America.

A former Vice President of Nigeria and serial presidential contestant in Nigeria who also participated in the 2023 presidential election in the country and lost to Bola Ahmed Tinubu had approached the U.S. court in his quest to fetch Tinubu's academic records from the Chicago State University where Bola Tinubu claims he bagged his degree.

Delivering judgment on the case, Judge Nancy Maldonado upheld an earlier ruling delivered by Judge Jeffrey Gilbert which ordered immediate release of Bola Tinubu's academic records to Atiku Abubakar by the Chicago State University.

Our source, however, revealed that President Bola Tinubu is in consideration of appealing to the Maldonado's ruling, an action that is said to be disastrous to Atiku Abubakar's case at the Supreme Court of Nigeria, the final stage of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Nigeria.

Bola Tinubu is in a series of meetings with his associates thinking of appealing to Judge Nancy Maldonado's ruling to buy time. You know, the Supreme Court of Nigeria will close the window for accepting pieces of evidence on October 5th and the timeframe will never be enough for Atiku Abubakar if Bola Tinubu appeals to the U.S. court judgment, Chicago State University will be compelled to maintain status quo until the court decides the appeal whereas Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has three days to submit his pieces of evidence, our source claimed.

However, another source claims that even if Chicago State University releases Bola Tinubu's academic records to Atiku Abubakar, it will have no input in the case before the Supreme Court.

Findings by the Round Table reveal that if Alhaji Atiku Abubakar failed to receive Tinubu's academic records from Chicago State University by noon CDT Monday, October 2nd, 2023 he seems to have lost out completely in the case regardless of the later position taken by the court.
