Lagos-based Nigerian Comedian, Lawrence Oluwaseyitan Aletile, who is popularly known as Seyi Law has disclosed that he has seen that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi, is coming.

Seyi Law stated this in a tweet he published today where he stated that "PETER OBI IS COMING. I just saw it."

The tweet which was followed by another tweet in a thread, which reads "He is coming to LAGOS soon," has generated scores of reactions as those that shared the same political idea with him extended the parable while some supporters of Mr. Peter Obi expressed their concerns.

Mr. Peter Obi lost the February 2023 presidential election coming third after Atiku Abubakar, the first runner-up and the winner of the keenly contested election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mr. Peter Obi has been in court challenging the victory of President Tinubu before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The Tribunal has reserved judgment in the case as all parties in the case have closed their cases.

Mr. Peter Obi's case may suffer setbacks as he may be disqualified from the race, and lose the validity of being a party in the case. This is because the timeframe of his membership of the Labour Party is shorter than the time laid down by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that a member must have spent in a party before he could be sponsored by the party for any elective position.

Recall that the Nigerian Constitution demands every political party participating in a general election to submit its party membership register at, the latest 90 days before the election. Considerably, the Labour Party had submitted its membership register to the INEC, before Mr. Peter Obi defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), where he was already a member and contesting for the presidential ticket of the party which forms another reason for his disqualification. This is because he was simultaneously contesting for the presidential seat of Nigeria in both PDP and Labour Party which amounts to double nominations, another reason that leads to outright disqualification of candidate by INEC or court of jurisdiction.
