Ademola Adeleke Osun State Government under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke has been found wanting in an allegation of illegal deduction of the monthly salaries of the state workers.
According to a source among the workers of the state, the state government has been strategic in the deduction of their monthly salaries which may accumulate to become another biggest fraud in the history of the state civil service relationship with the state government.
The deduction was said to be related to the monthly Cooperative Deduction from the staff salaries. It is meant to be deducted from the workers' monthly salaries and remitted to the Cooperative portfolio. Unfortunately, the state government was only deducting the workers' salaries without remitting any amount to the cooperative account of the state workers.
Besides, another source revealed to the Round Table that the state government is being strategic in the deduction. The government was said to be deducting the workers' salaries, randomly so that it won't generate a reaction under common voice.
"The deduction is being made randomly so that if they deduct your money this month, they won't deduct it next month. They will select another set of workers in the following months such that for every 100 staff, they may make a deduction from 40 in June, by July they will select another set of 30 workers excluding all the 40 staff members who suffered the deduction in May. I think the method is to create doubt and disunity among the state workers regarding the authenticity of the deduction," our source claimed.
The random deduction of Osun State workers' monthly salaries is coming amidst the economic shift brought about by the removal of fuel subsidies by the Federal Government. The action is said to be unfavorable to the state workers who are already feeling guilty about supporting Governor Ademola Adeleke during the Osun 2022 Governorship Election.
