Olaide Adelami A former Deputy Clark of the National Assembly, Olaide Adelami, has been sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Ondo State.
Adelami took the oath of office after his name was selected by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa after consultation with political stakeholders in the state.
The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Olusegun Odusola, swore in Adelami at a ceremony held at the International Culture and Event Centre, Akure, the state capital.
Governor Aiyedatiwa reportedly forwarded the name of Adelami to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation last week Tuesday, and swear-in seems to have addressed the need to fill the gap in the Executive Council of the state, caused by the death of the immediate past Governor of the State, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Recall that Lucky Aiyedatiwa was a former Deputy Governor of the State when Late Akeredolu was serving as the Governor of Ondo State until he died recently after suffering from a life-terminal disease. This necessitated the swearing-in of Aiyedatiwa as the Executive Governor of the State, and vacancy for the position of the Deputy Governor of the State.
