A former member of the Senate representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, had joined the trending conversation regarding the development from the Senate where a Senator, Abdul Míngí, was suspended by the house
The Senate suspended the lawmaker representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ningi, for three months after about three hours of debate over his interview in which he alleged that the National Assembly padded the 2024 N28.7 trillion budget.
Although Senator Ningi insisted that his Hausa language interview was misinterpreted, he could not substantiate his new claim.
Backing the initial claim attributed to Senator Ningi, the former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani said all senators are not equal and variation in the Constituency allowances of the "Senate big boy" could reasonably justify Senator Ningi's alleged initial claim.
He said, “Constitutionally, all Senators are equal. But in the Senate, all Senators are not equal; Some are more equal than others.
He, however, stated that even though all the senators understand that they are not equal, there are some facts about the National Assembly that each senator knows but no one can reveal them.
“All Senators know this and every Senator is expected to obey. And the law is ‘no be everything eye see mouth fit talk am’,” Senator Sani stated.
