The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) headquarters, Abuja, has joined fellow citizens in grooming support for the Nigerian senior football team, Super Eagles.
Super Eagles of Nigeria will be playing against the Elephant of Ivory Coast later today in the final match of Cote D'Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, which will be played at Alassane Quattara Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast's capital city.
Sending support to the national football team, NPF prayed for God's support to empower the Super Eagles team beyond the strength of the Elephant of Cote d'Ivoire.
As football lovers count down for the kick-off time of the match, NPF posted on its media platforms, "May the powers in the sky support the strength and agility of our Eagle🦅 to soar beyond limits comprehensible by the elephant 🐘; and when the eagle shall perch, it shall be with the trophy in its claws. Go Super Eagles!!!
In the same vein, Nigerian Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohamed Idris, reported that the ministry had commenced the mobilization of Nigerians across the country in support of the Super Eagles.
The Minister stated that the National Orientation Agency (NOA), has distributed thousands of hand-held and outdoor flags at viewing centers nationwide to mobilize support for the Super Eagles.
The Minister also encouraged Nigerians residing in Ivory Coast to troop out en masse to the stadium and show support for Nigeria's Super Eagles.
“The government is confident the Super Eagles will lift the AFCON trophy this year, making it the fourth in our kitty, and all necessary support has been provided to encourage the team to excel,” said the Minister.
