A reliable source inside the Nigeria senior football team, Super Eagles, revealed to The Round Table that many of the Super Eagles players who took part in the just concluded Cote D'Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, are considering retirement from the national football profession.

Recall that Nigeria's Super Eagles lost the AFCON 2023 final match to Ivory Coast by a 2-1 scoreline.

Since the beginning of the Cote d'Ivoire 2023 tournament, many Nigerians have launched campaigns of calumny against some of the Super Eagles players, and this might have been a great influence in the developing news within the Super Eagles camp.

Although some players are due for retirement within the Super Eagles, our source reveals that younger players who are expected to be within the team are among those considering retirement from the national team.

Our source confirmed that the Super Eagles players who are due for retirement will begin to announce their retirement in the next few weeks.

However, Nigerian players who are below the age of 30 are said to be among the players who have felt frustrated and hated by the team supporters and they are currently considering retirement from the national team.

Unfortunately, most of the young players who are caught in the frustration of premature retirement are those whose experience would be needed during the 2025 Nations Cup and the 2026 World Cups where Nigeria will be participating.

The source reveals that concerned individuals within the camp are currently influencing the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to help convince the young players of premature retirement.
