Traffic and business activities were paralyzed on the major streets of Kano, the economic capital of the Northern part of Nigeria today. The disruption followed a decision made by the special conference of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) at their last meeting in Abuja, Nigeria's capital city.

Recall that the ECOWAS at their last meeting in Abuja decided to set up a stand-by force to restore constitutional order in Niger Republic if the military coup plotters in the country decide to continue shunning the dialogue approach to resolve the issue.

Many Nigerians from the Northern part of the country have since shown their inconvenience with the decision reached by the ECOWAS to use Force in restoring constitutional order to the Niger Republic. Those opposing the use of Force against military intervention in resolving the Niger Republic military coup lamented that the Northern zone of the country will be at risk of drones and possible fightback from the Niger Republic military men and their external allies.

Others are of the opinion that the relationship between northern Nigeria and the people of the Niger Republic has been mutual for over 700 years. Hence, the region will not feel palatable seeing the Nigerian military killing their close allies who are closely related to them, ethnically and religiously.

A huge number of indigenous Hausa people of Kano, therefore, trooped out today in Kano, shutting down major streets of the city to send a signal to President Tinubu Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria and his counterparts from other West African States that they are not in support of the military deployment to resolve Niger Republic's junta.

The protesting Nigerians lowered the flag of France to the bare-ground, dragging it in the floor as they match on.
