The former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that opposition party members offered him a lot of things in their attempt to stop him from supporting the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu ahead of the February 2023 presidential election.
Wike stated this while visiting the South-South Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Victor Giadom, at his country home, today.
The FCT Minister however said the offers did not deter him as he stood his ground in support of the presidential ambition of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said he ensured that his friends were also in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu because of their beliefs that it was time for the presidency to return to the South.
Wike said, “When I was governor, Nigeria heard about Rivers State. That is what I have always preached. So, nobody should be afraid. I have no regrets when I stood by with my colleagues and friends that the presidency must go to the south.
“There was nothing I was not offered. But I said no. That is why I will continue to support the government of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu. As I am going back home, I am going with the satisfaction that my friend is back.
Wike, however, suggested that his visit to Giadom is a headache for some people who are politically astray. He described Giadom as a distinct political leader who deserved the loyalty of his followers.
He said, “This visit I came to today will cause a lot of trouble. Some people will start visiting now. Follow who knows the road. Continue to support Victor and all your leaders who mean well four all of you.”
