Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has informed Nigerians to stop criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the economic hardships presently facing Nigeria. He insisted that former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, is responsible for the economic woes and should be blamed.
Emir Sanusi stated this while speaking at a virtual religious event, yesterday.
He said everything happening to Nigeria's economy was foreseen and he gave former President Muhammadu Buhari a hint on how to rescue Nigerians from facing the economic woes they are currently going through but refused to heed his advice.
Emir Sanusi restated that Nigeria lived a "fake lifestyle" throughout the eight-year tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari, living in debt with no insight on how to rescue the country's economy.
He said it would be unfair for anyone to blame President Tinubu over the current economic hardships Nigerians are facing, insisting that President Tinubu had made the best decision by removing the oil subsidy which he said had no alternative in the course of fixing the Nigerian economy.
He said, "If I am to be fair and just to President Bola Tinubu, he is not to blame for the current hardship; for eight years, we were living a fake lifestyle with huge debt from foreign and domestic debts.
“I can’t join other Nigerians criticizing Tinubu on the current economic hardship, and I am not saying he is a saint free from wrongdoing, but in this current economic situation, President Tinubu is not to be blamed.”
