Hamas Agrees To Ceasefire As Israel and U.S.A Raise Uncertainty
Smokes of airstrikes in Rafah

The war in Gaza is still on as the world remains silent on it as if peace has returned to the Israeli-Palestinian war site.

While some countries have taken positions backing either of their countries in war, Qatar and Egypt have spent more time attempting to ensure peace return to the warring nations as soon as possible.

Today, Hamas’s political leader said the group was now focused on a cease-fire proposal based on a plan from Qatar and Egypt. The terms contained in the ceasefire proposal Hamas is talking about were unclear, but an Israeli official said Hamas had not agreed to the details of Israel’s latest proposal.

According to the New York Times, Israeli officials said they would review the terms that Hamas said it had agreed to.

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas’s political wing, said in a statement that the terms were based on a plan drawn up by Qatar and Egypt, two nations that have been acting as mediators in talks with Israel.

One senior Israeli official, who spoke to the New York Times on condition of anonymity, said Hamas had not agreed to the terms of the latest Israeli proposal, which had been on the table when talks reached an impasse on Sunday.

The Israeli military’s chief spokesman, Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, said at a news briefing: “We examine each response and reply in a very serious matter, and maximize every opportunity in the negotiations to secure the release of the hostages as a core mission.” But he said that at the same time, Israeli forces would “continue operating” in Gaza

However, Matthew Miller, the State Department spokesman, confirmed that Hamas had “issued a response” and that the United States was reviewing it with partners in the region. He did not say whether Hamas responded to a proposal Israel had already agreed to, or to a different one.

Note:

As uncertainty fills the proposal being submitted by both Israel and Hamas on the path to restoring peace totally to the war zone, the hope of getting peace remains doubtful, mostly in the soonest time.

There is a major obstacle to the peace deal the world is looking forward to seeing in Gaza, and it may be very difficult to suppress the obstacle on the path to restoring sanity to the war zone.

Considerably, Israel is fully backed by the United States of America's military force, and this has influenced Israel to come up with a proposal of either getting rid of Gaza (Hamas) once and for all, or never again in the future. Recall that the rift had not been this long in the past.

To ascertain this point, Israel is in the current peace deal asking for a "temporary" ceasefire for exchange hostages and civilians still residing in Gaza to evacuate, then the war begins again in full scale. However, Hamas is into the peace deal for a total ceasefire.

Although none of the contents of the peace deal seems to have addressed the primary cause of the rift, being who controls Gaza, do you think the region is close to peace?

What do you think can be done to hasten the path to sealing the peace deal as Israel continues airstrikes in Rafah?
