Caleb Muftwang The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Muftwang, has stated that the recent attacks on the people of Plateau State are an act of terrorism that is being sponsored by known people.
Governor Muftwang disclosed this while speaking yesterday on a Channels TV program, Politics Today. He restated that it would be of utmost importance for the country to quickly curb the sponsors of the insecurity menace before it gets out of hand.
Governor Muftwang who narrowly escaped being removed by the Supreme Court yesterday, stated:
“What I can tell you about the killings in Plateau and the attacks in recent times is that they are pure acts of terrorism.
“I believe that the sponsors of the terrorists, the financiers of the terrorists, and those who are the terrorists are known.
“And the security agencies know them or they can know them. And that is why we are insisting that the security agencies must do their work, which is to protect lives and properties,” he said.
Recall that there was a recent bandit attack by some suspected herdsmen and locals who waged an attack on not less than 15 communities, touching three local government areas in Plateau State. The attack led to the death of more than 100 people while property with hundreds of million naira was razed down by the attackers.
